Animation: James Gurney's "Fire and Ice Film" Blog Posts

os4

One of my favorite series of posts on James Gurney's LEGENDARY Blog was the post he made on working with Frank Frazetta and Ralph Bakshi on the 1983 Fire and Ice film.

The film is amazing for so many reasons.  The movie alone is a great!  Then to find out the people who worked on the film is even more amazing.  Ralph Bakshi based the movie off of Frank Frazetta's paintings!  Then they bring in none other than James Gurney and Thomas Kinkade (yes!  the painter of light) to do the background paintings for the film.

This is mind blowing!  Be sure to check out all the great photos, behind the scenes stories and pranks James posts about on his blog!

Fire and Ice, Part 1: Rekindled
Fire and Ice, Part 2: Frazetta
Part 3: Fire and Ice -- Tom Kinkade
Part 4: Fire and Ice -- Ralph Bakshi
Part 5: Living Inside Paintings

Also be sure to check out the making of video.  It shows a young James Grurney and Thomas Kinkade before they become superstars!
