10 Questions with Paolo Rivera

1.... who is your favorite artist?

H.J. Ward — but it changes from day to day. Saw an amazing George Bellows show yesterday.

2.... do you offer workshops for artists?

Not really. I give lectures and demos occasionally.

3.... what do you like to listen to while you work?

Audiobooks, podcasts, NPR, Pandora. Depends on what kind of work I'm doing.

4.... what medium and tools do you use to create your art?

Nowadays, mostly just pencil and paper.

5.... during an average week how many hours a day / week do you work on creating art?

It depends. This week about 45. 60 if you include email and blog and stuff like that. But my calendar is pretty much full from the time I get up to the time I go to bed.

6.... are you working your dream job?

7.... do you feel its important for others to pursue their dream jobs?

8.... where can people see your work (online, conventions or exhibits)?

My blog is the main place. If it's anywhere else, I'll mention it there first.

9.... was there a certain moment that you knew you wanted to be an artist?

I can't remember that not being the case.

10.... is there anything else you would like to add or say to other artists?

Drawing is sculpting!
